9Round 31:30 [5]

One station was really tough today and I could only do one half of it. One of the 5-foot cylindrical bags was on the ground and we were to get it in plank position and back it that way for about four feet, then go forward back to start and repeat for 3 minutes. I could do the forward in plank, but had to get on my knees to do the backward.

9Round 32:00 [5]

Lots of different types of plank stuff really got me sweating. Like plank walking down the bag with dumbbell rows at each end, and planking on an exercise ball while alternating clockwise and counterclockwise circles.

Dog Walking 35:00 [2] 2.0 mi (17:30 / mi)
shoes: Skechers GoRunS

After 9Round, I walked ElRay at Jesse James Park. We practiced "stay close" and I cooled off my sweat with a brisk breeze.

9Round 32:00 [5]

Today was lots of arms--several hundred punches, different types of pushups, etc. I thought it was pretty intense.

Workout 1:00:00 [4]

Weekly workout with Jared. Finished up tonight by pushing the sled forward, then returning backward with the lower handles. A quad burner.

Thought today seemed hard. Several new moves with medicine balls and burpees also.

9Round 31:30 [4]

"Whittle your middle" Monday. I'm tired from the weekend, and the long ride back yesterday. We had lots of different types of planks.

Orienteering race 1:56:20 [4] 3.8 km (30:37 / km)
shoes: INOV8 Bare Grips

Last day of the Flying Pig. The venue was the Mounds SRA, just like yesterday, but this part of the map was much nicer woods. I only got hung up in briars a few times. The boohoo aspect was that the nut holding my magnifier onto my compass fell off. I happened to notice this before I lost the magnifier, but I couldn't use it for the race.

Today I managed to do some stupid stuff. I spent 28 minutes try to find four. This was because I wasn't focused on what I was doing--I saw some other course's control here (and also on one other control) and got sidetracked. Analyzing my mistake, I think I looked too much at the trees and not enough at the forest. I will try to not do this again. I got really tired going up and down hills during that 28 minutes and I'm sure that slowed me down for the rest of the course.

Except for the distractions noted above, my navigation was pretty good, and route choices acceptable. I am really bummed, however, by control 4.
