Sprint run pre-Possum at Kill Creek. Took me a few moments to get my bearings at the beginning, but after, ok. I think my route choices were pretty good. We had a couple of short cuts through the woods, but most was on trails.

Burpee Friday. Started off fairly easy, but toughened up.

After recycling, took Elray to Riverfront Park. The cold wind was blowing hard, which made this unpleasant, so I let her do more sniffing than usual, and only went to the road and back. No one else was out there.

Putting out control flags for the Possum Trot, after pizza in Grandview. I had already been to the one location, which was really thorny and scratched me up a lot. The others were on the other side of the highway and there was quite a bit of undergrowth, but not many thorns. We met afterwards, and finalized plans for Sunday.

Pretty intense today. We started with the usual agility drills and balance stuff with weights. Near the end, we did the sled. Four times the length of the gym. Pulling backwards one way, then pushing on the low handles going back. Pushing with the low handles is a real quad burner.

Increased my CHOW to 8. The last round was terrible--holding hollow position (kind of like Iron Cross) and pulling knees in and out for ten, then holding the position for ten seconds, and repeating this for three minutes. I was really glad to be finished.

Took Elray to Jesse James Park. We didn't do much walking last week, since she wasn't feeling well, and we spent time getting a new car. So she was pretty excited today to be getting out. Started cool, but I got a little too warm by the time we finished. Great weather.

I went out to Burr Oak Woods, with map in hand, to put in some new trails. The bad news is that the first one came to a sudden stop after being very wide and easy to see, so I turned around and went back to the start. I then started another trail. This one started out wide and easy to see, then almost disintegrated. However, there was orange flagging up, so I followed the flagging with my Forerunner. Eventually I reached the main nature trail and an overlook. I had seen another side trail that wasn't on the map, so I walked back to it, and took it across. Very easy to follow, and a group of people were having a picnic right in the middle of the trail.

No one is there on Sundays, so I couldn't ask about the one I couldn't find. The guy in charge won't be back until Nov. 28, but I'll be pretty busy with the Possum Trot and Thanksgiving, so that is ok. Then I need to figure out start/finish and get serious about this.
