9Round 32:00 [5]
ahr:120 max:159 shoes: Skechers GoFit

Had to get my heart rate off my Fitbit again today, since my computer and the gym computer are not communicating.

A tough one today. Also, an extra challenge: shin kicks while holding dumbbells out to the sides--I did 112 in three minutes and my shoulders were silently screaming.

9Round 32:00 [4]
shoes: Skechers GoFit

The laptop with the heart rate monitor program in the gym had been destroyed by the torrential rain Monday night, so I have been using my Fitbit. Today the program was working again, but apparently is not communicating with my computer. Not a real burner for Friday, but we did lots of upper body.

Dog Walking 22:39 [3] 1.32 km (17:10 / km)
shoes: INOV-8 Trail Talon 225

After recycling, we hit the Riverfront Trail and went to the new tennis courts. A group of high schoolers were there taking pictures of a tree (is this a photography class or a biology class?). Two of the girls wanted to take a picture of Elray, and petted her. She, the Doggie Diva, posed nicely. I did five sprints during the walk, trying to find the most level ground. The last one was a little uphill, and Elray must have been tired, because I almost had to tow her. It was kind of like pulling the sled.

9Round 32:00 [5]
ahr:126 max:161 shoes: Skechers GoFit

Lots of core work today, including three stations that included Crunchy Frogs, one set doing them with a Swasher. My midsection is sore.

Dog Walking 26:41 [2] 1.71 km (15:36 / km)

Mack Porter Park. We checked the area that gets flooded, and all the vegetation had been inundated, but the trail wasn't covered with mud, as has happened in the past.

9Round 32:00 [4]

A good workout, with a couple of stations really taxing me. I felt like I kept up a really good pace today.

Workout 1:00:00 [4]
ahr:108 max:147 shoes: INOV-8 Trail Talon 225

Workout with my trainer. I had to stop a few times to catch my breath. My muscles were really feeling it tonight. The last thing was six trips up the ramp; first walking, then jogging, then sprinting, and back down with sprinting, jogging, and walking. That felt good.

CHOW this week was staying on the knees and alternately touching a 10-lb medicine ball to the floor and the bag. Hard to hang onto with boxing gloves. I managed 133, not that good. Rounds 2 and 9 were also tough.

Dog Walking 29:05 [3] 2.14 km (13:35 / km) +8m 13:20 / km
ahr:112 max:145 shoes: INOV-8 Trail Talon 225

Jesse James Park, with several short jogs. Cool, with a nice breeze, and no bird attacks.

Note
(rest day)

Instead of training, I spent the day enjoying the eclipse. I got up early to make salads for this afternoon's picnic on my front lawn, where we had a great view of the eclipse. It was raining around 1130, so we ate appetizers inside, then moved outside with the barbeque. The clouds thinned out as the eclipse started and we had perfect view through totality. Afterwards, the clouds started moving in again, and about the time of first quarter, rain started pouring down. So we moved indoors for dessert, Mary Ann's homemade ice cream, and my homemade moon pies. Yum! With coffee and Bailey's. This was after a very nice bottle of red wine with dinner. Perfect weather during the eclipse, after rainy bookends. A great day! Tomorrow, back to work.
