9 AM

Note

Orienteering. We had a Johnson County Parks & Rec class at Ernie Miller, and I helped with the map walks and compass training. Afterwards, I helped pick up the controls on the practice course.

9Round 32:00 [4]
ahr:109 max:129 shoes: Skechers GoFit

Today was core day, so each round included some core work. We did all kinds of unpleasant things, like crunchy frogs, V-ups, Russian twists, etc.

Dog Walking 19:06 [2] 1.32 km (14:28 / km) +4m 14:15 / km
ahr:95 max:128 shoes: GORUN5

The temperature was in the forties when I went to 9Round, but after a short side trip to the library and recycling, it was already into the low 60's. Nice, but a brisk north breeze. There was no room in the parking lot, so we weaved around, and parked in the neighborhood in back of the high school. Then we walked on the Riverfront trail from the trailhead to the water plant, and looped back on the gravel road. We hadn't been there in a while, so it was fun.

Gardening. Or, I should say, pulling vines and pruning out blackberries and old canes in the black raspberries. A lot of work, and enough stickers to draw a bit of blood, even with gloves. I am very glad this chore is done.

9Round 32:00 [5]
ahr:112 max:155 shoes: Skechers GoFit

It seemed like a really hard day. Some new moves that were tricky. I'm still a bit sore from Tuesday, and then my workout yesterday, so it was great to have a massage after 9Round.

Workout 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: INOV-8 Trail Talon 225

Weekly workout with my trainer. Added core work with a band to the agility drills.

9Round 32:00 [4]
ahr:105 max:127 shoes: Skechers GoFit

Today was chest and shoulders day. Lots of pushup, plank, and Burpee modifications. I felt really sore when I was finished.
9 AM

Dog Walking 34:37 [2] 2.15 km (16:06 / km) +9m 15:46 / km
ahr:98 max:129

We parked in Mack Porter, took the loop around and walked over the bridge to Jesse James. Walked around near the disc golf, then walked back over the bridge. We found two short, but steep, hills, and ran up them. I was too wiped out from yesterday and this morning to do any sprints. I good day for just walking, as most of the trail was loose gravel.

Today I finished the tree-vine-weed pruning by doing the west side of the driveway. Trying to get under control before the poison ivy appears. I'm glad that is finished.

9Round 32:00 [5]
ahr:115 max:138 shoes: Skechers GoFit

The CHOW this week was jumping over a cone and doing a jab and cross. I managed 114, and it really got my heart rate going.
9 AM

Dog Walking 29:25 [3] 2.23 km (13:11 / km) +28m 12:25 / km
ahr:109 max:143 shoes: GORUN5

I took Elray to Jesse James Park and we walked the loop. Since I am trying to get faster, I bit the bullet and did half a dozen slogs on the near level parts. It makes for really deep breathing, which is kind of uncomfortable. I need to get my waist pack back out so I can tether her. She does a lot less pulling when tethered.
11 AM

other 1:20:00 [3]

Gardening season. I cut down all the little pear and amur maple trees, plus lots of other junk from the east side of the driveway. I am trying to get ahead of the poison ivy. The west side will have to be another day. This made me really tired, and I still have broccoli to plant later today.
4 PM

other 45:00 [2]

More gardening. I planted a whole row of broccoli plants, and weeded the raspberries. Not as tough as this morning, but I'm still tired. I need to rest up for restorative yoga
6 PM

Yoga 1:15:00 [0]
