British Middle Champs 2013 help at Stanton Moor. Never orienteered in the Peak District before, so I was looking forward to it. Weighing up whether to run at all with a painful heel/achilles, after straining it even more yesterday, but some tape and pain killers did the trick and I didnt feel anything during the run.

Great little area, forested technical craggy areas, to open moorland. I felt strong throughout the run, concentration and planning ahead was good. Mainly used rough bairings to get me in the direction of th next control. Lost contact with the map on no.6, lost about 45 secs - a minute, which cost me a few places, but I was really pleased with my run, and to finish 8th from 32. Fab weekend :)

British Sprint Champs 2013 at Loughborough Uni. Great weather and my heat went reaaly well and seeing as it was only my second or third proper urban event, I was really pleased with how I ran. I ran 1.1 around the eastern part of the campus.It wasnt the most technical area, but it was nice and fast. Was using stodges dibber, and I could really feel the diference on a sprint. I felt confident, and my map reading and planning ahead was good, trying to make decisions on the move.

Was pretty tiered at the end, but I was very pleased to finish 4th out of 9, and to make it into the A final, which was my aim.

The M16 A final (A1). Wasnt expecting too much, I just wanted a solid run. Course was around the much more tricky and technical central section of the Campus, set amonst the student accomodation blocks. A few scrappy mistakes (altogether about 1 min of mistakes) may have cost me a place, but on a much harder area, I was pleased. I couldnt of given much more, and navigationally, I was solid. Overall, pleased to finish 13th, and two solid runs. Bring on the middles tomorrow!

WCH training at MOD Stafford, for urban practise before the British sprints. WU around northern bit.

Trains excercise with Steve and Simon H. Very stop start, but I tried not to plan routes when I was waiting around, and made dicisions whilst running. Good overall. Back felt tender again, will possibly go for a walk, but no running before the weekend.

Maybe pushing it, but raced Tom and Kelvin. Opposite loops, with three controls on each. Too hesitant! Back feels alrite though.
