Race (Ultra trail Cerveira) 7:55:55 [3] 33.4 mi (14:15 / mi) +3325m 10:53 / mi

Bad shoe choice with the x-talon 212, lots of steep compact and rocky descents and leaving shoes pretty loose to accommodate for swelling feet were sliding forwards resulting in another fucked toenail! Plus not enough cushioning...

Good race though was doing well until about 25miles then cramp kept attacking me every mile or so on the steep up and downs. Was sitting comfortably in 8th then got passed by two on the Descent’s which were easily reeled in on the ups but just couldn’t match on the downs. Finished 10th which was ok (top 10 and all...)

Overall feeling strong in the legs and lungs just need to sort out my nutrition to stop/lower the risk of cramping up and buy some more shoes.

Hot day for sure. Kit check said we didn’t have to carry a windproof as there was no chance of rain. Just mobile phone, thermal blanket and 1L capacity of water.
