Day 6 Glen Feardar West Day 6
Lost 30 secs with banana to no 1 and too high going to 3 (-2mins). Ok through close controls but lost 1 min going on low route to 8 (no path -heavy heather). Ran long leg to no.9 quite well but then did not go accurately into control and lost 3 mins. Rest of course ok

Day 5 Glen Feardar East
Ankle hurt like mad, not sure whether to run or not. Must have tweaked it in the assembly field. Pre-occupied with this early in the course, then sped up.
Dropped diagonally down to 9 -reached crossing point and corrected but not actually at the one marked on map so too far east (-2.30 secs). Also lost 90 secs going to 13 when too far west. A bit slow towards end. Overall ankle hurt like hell which compromised run with late start on easy terrain

Day 4 Creag Chroinnich
Control 2 was diagonally down steep and featureless hill - went off line to wrong control (-3.5mins) -similar to no 3 -stopped and searched far too high (-3.5mins). However rest of course went quite well. Not too bad a result from early start in an area a bit too steep for me. Ankle quite sore by end of race

Day 3 Brisemore Hill
Started quite quick but missed (-90secs) no 1 (silly)- annoying and off-putting rather than significant. Underestimated no 6 lost the direction, and stopped short and too far east (-3.5 mins) -quite cross and irritated . Still annoyed going up to 8 -should have attacked from top of hill but instead changed mind mid route and started to contour -could not find flag or relocate in complex area but although quite close could not relocate -went out but could not find wall. All very unprofessional -lost 14 mins. Rest of course ok but slow and unmotivated. Disappointing and 'waste' of late start

Scottish 6 days Day 2 Balfour Forest
Lost 30 secs at both 1 & 2 - not accurate enough. Went through early close controls ok but lost 2 mins at 7 -went away from control and relocated on the wall. Offlinr going to 8 -30 secs and 2 mins at 11-misread hill near wall crossing so too far north. Rest of race ok but not particularly quick

orienteering race 1:06:37 [5] 4.8 km (13:53 / km) +150m 12:00 / km

Scottish 6 days -Day 1 Glen Tanar -very concerned about knee before starting. 1-4 went well, however lost 2mins at no 5 -went to correct 'ridge' and looked for flag but control actually 30m west (unlucky). Also missed no 7 (4.5 mins) -incompetent far of bearing and did not correct rigourously at forest road -should have gone to rock. A bit slow over last controls. 29/95 and +16.56 -probably not too bad for early start
