Controlling 1:00:00 [1] 4.0 km (15:00 / km)

Look at British Nights. Representative time and distance

Wednesday Sep 27, 2017 #

off road 15:00 [3] 0.7 mi (21:25 / mi)

Warm up

off road 1:01:20 [3] 6.0 km (10:13 / km)

BAOC Long Valley south score event. Again a bit rusty on the navigation so hesitant and also lost time in a few spots. But good to find lots of controls and more into 'the zone' towards the end. A bit heavy legged from the start. Perhaps not really ready to race yet but have worked quite hard this week

1 AM

road run 36:00 [5] 3.0 mi (12:00 / mi)

On Downs after podiatry appointment. Little wind. 8 x 2mins with 90 secs .
Not a great session - seeming to have little rhythm/ speed. But session done.
2 AM

off road (Night) 1:03:00 [3] 6.0 mi (10:30 / mi)

BOK run from Frampton Coterall , slow on offroad/ wood better on short road sections

Monday Sep 25, 2017 #

off road 1:05:10 [4] 6.0 mi (10:52 / mi)

Standard Purdown loop inc 3 hills. Ran later in day after rain and had to run quite hard from start to finish to do this time. Don't think I am going to go much faster

Sunday Sep 24, 2017 #

Note

Did not run today but did go for a walk around New Beechenhurst

Saturday Sep 23, 2017 #

1 AM

road run 15:00 [2] 0.7 mi (21:25 / mi)

Warm up -a bit patchy
2 AM

orienteering race 1:21:32 [5] 5.6 km (14:34 / km)

NGOC League event at Highmeadow/ Headless Hill -navigation rusty and lack of agility on descents continues to worsen. Bad miss at 6 going down the hill far too soon -2/3rds along leg at faint re-entrant, wrong route choice to 7 and haemorrhaged time at 8 adjacent to parallel veg boundary hunting for flag in heavy bracken. Navigation sharper later but pace then quite slow. Over all probably true representation of current capability - quite a bit to work on in next months. Very nice sunny afternoon in gorgeous surroundings.

orienteering (Urban) 36:10 [3] 5.0 km (7:14 / km)

Run around part of old course in Portishead. Still challenging. Not at race speed but running properly
2 AM

off road 1:08:00 [3] 6.0 mi (11:20 / mi)

Out and back along coast path from Portishead Lido with Jo. She was running strongly and kept us honest despite being on eve of significant birthday. Lovely warm sunny morning with great views over the estuary. Good to be alive although I don't know if Helen who was stuck in M5 chaos and had to abort would agree
