1 AM

road run 15:00 [2] 1.0 km (15:00 / km)

Warm up
2 AM

orienteering race 59:20 [5] 6.8 km (8:44 / km)

POM Long S. Bartolomeu do Outeiro Ammonteio 64/94 CD 59.30, CK 51.47, MS 43.09, CH 33.37 2nd
Late start and a hot day the only bad performance of the week. Good run on long easy first leg, but map reading error at 2 (2 mins), then small mistakes at technical 4 &.5 (each 2mins), losing confidence. Got back into race going to 6 but missed control in diffuse area and panicked. Lost 5 mins on what should have been a simple relocation and left for 7 in wrong direction. Then all ok but quite slow. Really did not handle change of pace/ accuracy going to 2 well. Perhaps a race too many.
A shame as a bit of a waste of a very good day

1 AM

road run 16:00 [2] 1.5 km (10:40 / km)

Warm up
2 AM

orienteering race 28:09 [5] 4.0 km (7:02 / km)

POM Middle S. Bartolomeu do Outeiro Ertuismo 30/99 CD 28.09, CK 27.46, MS 28.29 and CH 20.57 (winner)
Lots and lots of controls all pretty much on rocks, veered quite badly off compass line on only longish leg 2-3 through diffuse area but recovered quite quickly (lost 1+ min). Winsplit also shows another couple of errors but I was always going to make this in this type of orienteering
Complete contrast to Day 2 but another fun run
4 AM

orienteering race (Night, Urban) 14:46 [5] 2.4 km (6:09 / km)

POM night sprint Portel. Ran with big headlight so could read the map
21/51 CD 14.46, MS 15.44, CH 24.03 and CK 12.52 Third!
Very fast (relatively easy) and furious start. Lost 40 secs at control 10 -took wrong alley and had to retrace steps, perhaps a bit of a result from a struggle up the hill. Alas that was a lot of places
Quite suprised/ impressed by quite how much faster CK ran - I need a bit more speed endurance for sprint races

1 AM

road run 20:00 [2] 2.0 km (10:00 / km)

Warm up
2 AM

orienteering race 49:06 [5] 6.9 km (7:07 / km)

POM day 2 Long S. Bartolomeu do Outeiro 32/105 CD 49.06, CK 44.18, CH 40.24 3rd MS 38.12 2nd.
Coped Ok with a long and easy first leg. Just one mistake but 5 mins on a short and easy leg, went over, round better, got onto wrong spur and parallel rocks should have recovered quicker. Afterwards ok (did lose 1min + overshooting next control but hidden in splits as ran there fast.
A really delightful area to run in

1 AM

road run 20:00 [2] 1.5 km (13:20 / km)

Warm up
2 AM

orienteering race (Urban) 32:28 [3] 5.9 km (5:30 / km)

Evora -urban middle race 24/107 CD 32.28, CK 32.11, MS 30.18, CH 27.12 winner.
Overall took pretty straight routes with lots of twists through alleys where slightly longer but much simpler would have been better for me - turned too early on second hill climb and went into olive courtyard - not sure how much time lost as rogue timing control messed up this bit of splits. Mostly pretty good
3 AM

orienteering 1:00:00 [2] 4.0 km (15:00 / km)

Gentle jog around second and more representative training area
