orienteering (Urban) 52:37 [3] 6.3 km (8:21 / km)

Strong wind but no rain so reversed decision to take a day off but uncertain as to what to actually do, so decided to run an old Frenchay course. A map in hand does seem to mean I push a bit harder rather than potter

Friday Mar 15, 2019 #

off road 1:00:04 [3] 5.0 mi (12:01 / mi)

Purdown, short route but with the three hills. A pretty ordinary and still quite windy grey day and I felt pretty ordinary, so put of running till later and pottered round quite ordinarily. Probably a PW
Today the LH foot hurt particularly at the start, yesterday I was fine until the RH knee hurt a lot going downhill in the last 200m. Today knees were ok.....I could easily write a paragraph each day selecting which items on the 'not quite right list' had been chief miscreant...…...or I could get a life?

road run 47:10 [4] 7.0 km (6:44 / km)

Run with Mark and Alice up Twmbarlwm in the light early evening, bashed up the lane chasing Alice, bashed up the hill trying to keep breathing and hoping Alice would stay in sight, bashed back down the lane chasing Alice, and we were back. Not what I usually do but very enjoyable.

In time to watch today's Brexit votes....no doubt the Commons like BOK will be claiming that participation numbers have gone up so its all actually a great success! ......I wonder if MPs use a fitbit or Strava to log metres voted and if someone has triumphed with best segment...….

off road 1:00:00 [3] 5.0 mi (12:00 / mi)

Run from Cross up Crookes Peak, Wavering Down and back around lower slopes with Pete and Jo on a very windy but atmospheric day. Really struggled with breathing and initially to keep Jo and later Pete in sight. This was a challenging but enjoyable outing. We met Chris planning on the top, an event is scheduled for May......his day must have been challenging.....stopped but did nit re-start watch so time a guess

off road 1:07:15 [3] 6.1 mi (11:01 / mi)

Leigh Woods - had been wet during day but not a rerun of Noah's flood as predicted by the forecast so ran late pm (and in my Mudclaws). Took higher (shorter) route but made a mistake on the flat paths on way park so a tiny bit longer

Monday Mar 11, 2019 #

off road 1:09:51 [3] 6.5 mi (10:45 / mi)

A nice sunny Spring like day and not too windy so went to Portishead and an out and back on the Coast Path. 35.48 to the turn so either ran a bit harder back..... or the windy was behind. Knees quite sore to start with

orienteering race 1:28:11 [5] 8.5 km (10:22 / km)

Sarum event at Great Ridge Brown course. Missed 10 (a shame as split would have been quite good) and 11 but not disasters. Also not very straight on 3,4 and 7 losing a few seconds so not bad at all.....but very slow again in the terrain. Knees again a bit of an issue but seemed to be running better in the second half
