Saturday Mar 21 #

orienteering 1:25:20 [3] 9.0 km (9:29 / km)

Nice sunny day but with strong winds so went over the bridge for some sand dune training. Really enjoyed this and more disciplined than sometimes

Friday Mar 20 #

off road 1:15:22 [3] 7.0 mi (10:46 / mi)

Potbury run, not done this for a while, sunny with a nip in the wind. Some/ lots of path sections were very muddy which was not conducive to a fast time, but ran quite hard on the hills and at the end. Ran in 'O' shoes. Tiring a little at 2/3 so had to concentrate.

Thursday Mar 19 #

off road 1:06:04 [3] 6.0 mi (11:01 / mi)

Standard Blaise run, ran pretty hard later in the day. Started overdressed as expecting rain but dodged showers and had to stop and derobe!

Wednesday Mar 18 #

off road 1:08:54 [3] 6.0 mi (11:29 / mi)

Leigh Woods run, drier so a bit faster than last time, ran in 'O' shoes. So perhaps could have been a bit quicker, seem to have been holding an honest pace. Mild but not sunny, avoided showers

Tuesday Mar 17 #

off road 1:01:18 [3] 5.0 mi (12:16 / mi)

Swineford standard run, still wet and muddy but much better after a sunny day. Warm and grey but not raining, ran late pm as developing cancelation am
Tried quite hard and going better so 61 mins is ok but its not 55 mins!

Monday Mar 16 #

off road 1:46:00 [3] 8.5 mi (12:28 / mi)

Sunny day and so decided to do the coast path and then back over the hill. Promenade closed so parking made run shorter, did not take a map which was a mistake. Coast path was muddy but ran in O shoes -ha ha. Passed Observatory but turned too early and ended up in a blokes garden. Did not know a house existed … turned too early he said as I tried to avoid his hound. Retraced steps rather than plan A to climb his fence. Nice along top through Walton Common and only a short stretch on horrible road. Got completely lost near Police station ended up wallowing through a cow wallow and then a long road stretch, O shoes not quite so good. Subtract some time and added distance for diversions -will take a map next time

Sunday Mar 15 #

1 AM

off road 12:00 [3] 0.8 km (15:00 / km)

Warm up

orienteering 42:50 [3] 3.7 km (11:35 / km)

A very wet day for NGOC Compassport cup at very muddy Cranham.
Not much to say about the course it was fine but not much to commend it either, a few fumbles in the circle and then went off route going to the finish, so had to run up and down run in which was pretty incompetent. This sort of middle distance orienteering just does not rock my boat
