Note
(sick)

Woke up with sore throat a bit of a temperature and cough. Feeling a bit grim and probably really is Manflu rather than usual Hypercondria. Had to cancel my arrangement to run. Just checked for Coronavirus symptoms and discovered that there is an NHS site. I added my manflu symptoms and to my surprise it said to self isolate and apply for a test immediately. This was all very efficient and by 10.30 am I had been to Bristol airport car return and tested. (Avoided temptation to walk in Mendips, that looked so splendid, and was sat out in the garden for the day) . Within 24 hours I had a negative result and am allowed to return to work having notified my employer!...which might be a bit of a snag.
However manflu is not fixed and Lemsip etc. are being consumed...

I had run through potential contacts and although I would have thought I had been quite prudent about social distancingr a cascade of contacts who might have been involved in self isolate/ test was wide and could have had consequences to health care, local government, elderly and child care (nursery), holidays etc. Quite thought provoking

flat efforts 42:00 [4] 3.0 mi (14:00 / mi)

Rodway and Pomfrey 5 x 4 mins (800m ish) -a pretty poor effort but got better as session went on. Efforts and potter pace quite similar! but you have to start somewhere. Chest quite tight and oxygen uptake no better . (Felt a bit rough in the evening and coughing)

off road 1:16:00 [3] 6.5 mi (11:42 / mi)

Met up with Mark and Alce at British Camp and ran north on top of the ridge to Worcester Beacon and then back on the lower path. Really nice to meet and catch up. Quite a lot of climb and Mark much stronger on hills. Feeling quite good and great views. Just a pleasure to run in company of good friends. A good to be alive trip

off road 2:39:00 [3] 15.0 mi (10:36 / mi)

Ran with Chris from Cross, round east side and then onto Wavering Down. Crooks Peak over the M5 near the Webbington, Loxton onto Blaedon Hill along ridge, down into the village and then back along the botoom mostly along rein. Stayed in touch with Chris until he pushed along the road on the ridge. Seemed like a long way back. It was surprisingly warm and I was a bit dehydrated at the end. Could not have run any further. Good to explore some new routes although the Wavering/ Crooks route remains a favourite

orienteering 1:37:00 [3] 9.0 km (10:47 / km)

Some technical training in the Welsh rain, not very disciplined, seem to have forgotten what to do

off road 1:32:57 [3] 8.0 mi (11:37 / mi)

Tinsel Trot, still pretty good running conditions. Start was a bit of a struggle as felt pretty heavy legged but then ran quite well and a good time time to the Trig 68.27. A bit slower on the way back but still pretty pleased with the time. Just need to get back into the groove this week

off road 1:12:52 [3] 7.0 mi (10:25 / mi)

Needed to regroup a bit after an unusual week. So went a ran Portbury loop and tried quite hard. Did loose a bit of time with the summer vegetation but also a bit slower than recently. Still quite pleased and did enjoy being outside
