Saturday Feb 13 #

off road 1:23:45 [3] 7.8 mi (10:44 / mi)

Another cold day, quite a number of people out -ran a straight route through Begbrook, Oldbury Court Eastville Park and Purdown. Quite enjoyed this as going so much better when ground is frozen

Thursday Feb 11 #

off road 1:09:31 [3] 6.0 mi (11:35 / mi)

Leigh Woods on a bitterly cold day. The ground was rock hard and first part of run rutted due to number of visitors, perhaps because of this never really got into a rhythm today

Wednesday Feb 10 #

off road 1:07:16 [3] 6.0 mi (11:13 / mi)

Not sure which was the chicken and the egg, not feeling fantastic or deciding not to push to hard today. Did not feel quite so cold, but maybe just that the wind had dropped as there were occasional snow flurries. Just ran steadily. the ground is hard frozen but om more of the slopes the very top of the mud is soft making them slippery

Tuesday Feb 9 #

off road 1:02:21 [4] 6.0 mi (10:24 / mi)

We are in a cold snap. Ran in the middle of the day but the east wind made it feel very cold and all but an occasional slope in the sun was frozen hard. This gave the opportunity to run in slopes rather than tip toe to avoid sliding, so today was going to be faster and so I took on the challenge of seeing how quickly I could do the standard Purdown route. Not too bad at all but did feel a bit rubber legged in the last mile

Monday Feb 8 #

off road 1:05:29 [3] 6.0 mi (10:55 / mi)

Purdown standard route. Heavy frost (but no snow) left (most) of the ground harder. and hence less slippery) than recently. Felt stronger today and do enjoy it more when its much easier to keep up some pace. Pleased with this run. It was a day where you were always not quite dressed right. With a strong east wind you were either too hot running up hill in the lee of the wind even with a layer off or too cold into the wind even with the extra layer on.

Sunday Feb 7 #

off road 1:15:28 [3] 6.0 mi (12:35 / mi)

Although snow (and cold) forecasted across most of Britain not here. Purdown was heaving with people so almost ran the standard route albeit with some interruptions. Realised I was doing ok so tried to keep some kind of fluency towards the end. Quite muddy although the recent dry + frost means past its worst. Time not to bad at all which was both surprising and encouraging but had done plenty (if not too much) by the time I had finished)
