hill efforts 1:03:46 [3] 5.0 mi (12:45 / mi)

Felt much more sprightly this morning so although I had not planned did 6 x daffodil hill. In retrospect not sure I am actually 100% and tomorrow's orienteering may be a day too soon. Anyway although I struggled on the first hill completed the session. Straight out and back

Note

A bit rough and a bad nights sleep, resulted in a bit of a wasted day

Thursday May 13, 2021 #

off road 1:45:00 [3] 9.1 mi (11:32 / mi)

Ran with Chris and Helen through showers intermittent with rain through Ashton Court and out to Failand, past the cricket pitch and then straight back in order to be on time for my second jab at Ashton Gate

Wednesday May 12, 2021 #

off road 1:24:26 [3] 8.0 mi (10:33 / mi)

Older route, Purdown, Eastville park, Frome Valley and path route just into Oldbury Court. Enjoyed going around in the opposite sense. Ran earlier in the day to try to get best of weather Purdown full of dog walkers (many professionals) but met no-one on the narrow sections getting into Oldbury Court , so less folk now out walking?

Tuesday May 11, 2021 #

off road 1:02:58 [3] 6.0 mi (10:30 / mi)

Loop from Blaise Castle car park. Seemed to be finding hills a bit of a struggle, but Blaise always a good training opportunity. Showers but again lucky as I was in the car driving home when the hail shower arrived

Monday May 10, 2021 #

off road 1:02:18 [3] 5.7 mi (10:56 / mi)

Loop around Ashton Court post dentist, fortunate in avoiding some heavy showers

Sunday May 9, 2021 #

off road 4:10:00 [2] 16.0 mi (15:37 / mi)

Dave and Celia wanted to do a longer run, so ran from Tibberton , enjoyed the earlier sections in particular up to the top of May Hill, where the views were spectacular and down through Newent Woods but after Newent the run deteriorated, long wet grass, non-existent foot paths, frisky cows and nettles all conspired to reduce progress to in many many cases little more than a walk. I had unthinkingly run in shorts and was pretty comprehensively and unpleasantly nettle stung by the end.
