hill efforts 1:10:25 [3] 5.0 mi (14:05 / mi)

6 x daffodil hill. Although from the overall times I suspect I actually did 7off. Strange how its difficult to count intervals. Knee not too much of an issue but could feel it on the way back

Note
(rest day)

A bit concerned about my RHS knee which may have taken a pasting in the last few days and it was raining and the prospect of a pub lunch so perhaps wisely? took a rest day

Thursday May 20, 2021 #

off road 1:29:59 [3] 8.1 mi (11:07 / mi)

Ran with Mark, Alice and Pete out along coast path, up and over Walton Common and back along the path. Quite windy but running earlier in the day avoided most of the rain. Seemed to a nice pace to chat but enough to be a solid training session, quite heavy legged and having to work quite hard at both the start and finish. Nice to have the company and as ever the views are very changeable

off road 3:00:00 [3] 13.8 mi (13:03 / mi)

Dave Kingham special from Barrow Wake. South along CW to Painswick Beacon, then back using Wysis Way then Saltridge Hill and straight back through Cranham Woods and Birdlip. Last half hour quite a struggle.
Truly remarkable views particular from the wake and beacon on what turned out to be a splendid sunny late afternoon

off road 1:05:45 [3] 6.0 mi (10:58 / mi)

Had intended to go to Potishead but travel chaos signed on motorway so ducked out and ran from Blaise car park. Though I was going well so perhaps slightly disappointed with the time. All training at Blaise is good training though....

Warm up mostly on the road

orienteering race 1:09:53 [5] 7.9 km (8:51 / km)

Orienteering? BOK Black Down. Without doubt a tremendous place to run and I certainly enjoyed running here,,,,, but seemingly not the best to plan interesting orienteering courses. However perhaps because it should have been straight forward I came out of 7 in completely the wrong direction north rather than east and into a load of grot, possibly because I had come into the site from an unusual angle,.....losing lots of time. Elsewhere just a bit rusty.
