Running tempo 31:16 [4] 8.12 km (3:51 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Hitogami 3

Not able to make it to park-o tonight so decided to do a tempo run instead. Trying to keep the volume low this week before #preseason camp and to recover from a lot of volume (comparatively) last week. Felt pretty good at the pace I ran today. Left calf a little bit sore probably owing to track yesterday. Considering getting some compression socks...

Running intervals (Tuesday Night Torture) 50:00 [4] 8.0 km (6:15 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Hitogami 3

The usual tuesday night affair at Glendale. Coach Josh set a pyramid this week. 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 500, 400, 300, 200. Not sure on the rest between but it certainly felt longer on the way back down the pyramid.

I decided to get some racing/training flats because I'll be doing this training every week for a while and I'll also be doing park run and shorter stuff regularly enough to justify it. They feel AWESOME! Seemed to make a huge difference on the track, muscles were just able to fire so much nicer. Felt very smooth out there today, which probably means it's time to either up the pace or lower the rest. Ended the session feeling like I had a little bit left in me but not a huge amount which I think is the sweat spot. Really looking forward to taking my new found speed to park run and out onto the orienteering course :D

Note
(rest day)

Planning a light week this week. Planning on having a couple rest days with only shorter workouts in between.

Running long 1:58:04 [3] 18.8 km (6:17 / km)
shoes: Salomon s-lab

Long Run at Glenrock. GPS Died so I'm using Macey's data. Lower calves feeling it a bit now. Definitely time for an easy week to let the improvements set in and freshen up for #preseasoncamp. K rate is very deceptive, as there were some rock hopping sections involved.

Running race (Park Run) 18:18 [5] 5.0 km (3:40 / km)
shoes: Saucony

Woke up at 7:45 and quickly put on smelly unwashed running clothes and ran at 4min/km to the start line where I got a couple minutes break before park run. Just don't feel like I fully recovered since yesterday. Caught Macey at about 4km as he was clearly suffering from not having run the last couple days. I ran with Macey for about a KM then sprinted the last 250m.

A 100% effort would have probably seen around a 17:40-17:30 time but I'm not really sure of the benefit of pushing myself into the red zone on a weekly basis for a 5km park run. Looking forward to sunday long run.

I really think park run time can be seriously improved through some speed training. Looking forward to watching this time tumble as I continue the weekly track sessions. :)

Running warm up/down 25:00 [3] 4.0 km (6:15 / km)

Running (Fruit Loops) 1:07:56 [4] 13.58 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Salomon s-lab

Holy shit that was the fastest fruit loops I think I'll ever participate in. Some seriously quick sections. Can't get the climb because my garmin isn't agreeing with my computer. Pushed really hard on a few sections. Steve decided to turn on the gas on the first section from the lagoon to the look-out. And a wooters runner lit it up on some of the other segments. Pretty gassed. Park run shall be... interesting..

Note
(rest day)

Probably a good idea I don't ramp up the running training too quickly. A well earned rest day today, hoping to be fresh for Friday.
