Plenty of mud, first loop actually had a lot of packed snow where it wasn't mud, overall not as bad as expected. Weather was tough, but not brutal for trail running. Second loop the packed snow was getting icy spots, quads were getting sore ala Bandera, and the Voyageur I should have dropped out of, so that along with every other excuse I could come up with convinced me to stop. Not regretting it yet - this race wasn't worth any more prolonged recovery, getting injured, or being stuck in Zumbro for another day (or more?) Need more hiking and climbing, and strength training, I think.
