Start to Robinson Flat, where I changed shoes (for the first time ever!) First 10 miles took 3 hours with a few thousand feet of climbing in first four miles, then plenty of sliding around on slick snow. Started in the back of the pack and stayed patient - passed about 100 people. Nice running and expansive views miles 10-30, lots of snow melt and water crossings to really saturate the feet!

The rest of the race in the old Timps - minor rubbing on heels and front of foot, but no major shoe issues. Cool temps and feeling decent through the canyons - pretty steady with water and mix of fruit, potatoes, gels, Pay Days, and hard candy (my teeth hurt toward the end, and still sensitive to sugar) - used lots of ice during day. Slowed quite a bit second half - right outer knee acted up (initially down hills and technical, but eventually hurt with hiking too) - could maintain semblance of running, but kept slowing all the way to the end. Not too happy with that, but still amazing experience! Back and forth with quite a few people, lost 25 spots through the last 70 miles to end up #246 with a time of 28:35:46.
