probably ran too hard in the first half, but had fun. Starting at Magney Ski Trails on the return trip lower legs cramped on any uphill running and faster attempts at downs or flatter (could still 'jog' a bit though). Tried getting in more electrolytes and water, but never managed to get under ~11 min/mile for the rest of it. Out ~4:40, back ~6 hours. I was feeling so good otherwise!!
OUT - 4 toaster pastries, 1 hard candy, ~40 oz water, ~30 oz Ultima (~850 calories)
BACK - 3 packs Skratch chews (final pack was hurting my teeth), 1 sleeve Clif blocks, 3 hard candies, 4 pickles, 1 S-cap (thanks to John Taylor), ~40 oz water, 15 oz Ultima, 20 oz Tailwind (Cola flavor, not delicious warm), 20 oz Skratch Hyperhydrate (~850 calories)
Heat (forgot ice at Becks AND Petersons on the way back!) and electrolytes maybe contributing factors to cramps, but I think main cause was inadequate training, at least for how fast I started (was a great 50k)
