Orienteering 1:16:30 [2]
Did the snowshoe-o.... walked with the Turinsky family to 121 along the woods edge to the trail head. Continued using trails to 119. Went straight down the hill slipping and sliding and saw the pond where 118 was. Got disorientated heading to 144 and was too far SW... assumed the tracks left in the snow recently would lead me where I wanted to go! Went back toward 118 and quickly got to 144. Took trails to 143. Headed to 117 on the NW trail along the marsh...used the secondary trail that was parallel to the main trail after sinking in too far on the first couple steps. Went up the hill to 106 and then went just a little too far east before catching a glimpse of 145 on my left. Took trail to 116 and road to 115. Took SW trail to grab 142 and 105. Should have gone for 114 before 142??? Had to wait some for some skiers on the trail to 104. Continued on trail to 120 where I ran into Vince. We talked some geocaching on the way to 103. Crossed the road to grab 102 by the flagpole and then got 114 where I ran into Vince again. We both headed to 113, he went through the woods and I went closer to the woods edge. Got nervous heading to 113 with all the ponds... broke through several times, but stayed pretty dry! Crossed the field and road to get 112 and took the road to get closer to 111. Two guys were trying to pull one of their cars out of the snow where he slid off the road.... from the tire tracks I was assuming he was coming SW on the road but spun around and went off. Saw some tracks heading to 111 and passed a snowshoer there. Didn't really see that many people out there today. Thanks to Stina for a fun time out there!
