My form was unusually clunky and awkward this morning until I got warmed up. Left heel a little sore before I started, but felt better once the blood started flowing.

Nice to see that the HRmax decreased a bit, even though the running time increased. Back in "the day", I would jog for 35 minutes with an HRmax in the low 150's. Nothing to brag about, but it was good for me. It would be nice to get back to that.

I've been slowly entering whatever past splits I can find into AP. After entering six more races, I'll have all my A-meet splits entered. Then I've got a small stack of local maps with splits written on the backs - I'll add those, too.

I've found that I like being able to see a summary screen of all my events with distances and paces listed. It is interesting to look for trends.

It has been nostalgic remembering some of the events I've attended since I started with the sport in 2002. Even slow, recreational guys like me can have "good" and "bad" days that stick in the memory.

My best day (by far) was the Sunday Red course at the 2005 Flying Pig. My worst is probably my DNF on the Sunday Red at Oak Mountain in Alabama (Jan 05), followed closely by my OT at the BRC this year.

Quite some time ago (~6 months?) I was given a Simon Mall gift card from my workplace. I never really go to malls, and there's not much stuff at malls I would want to buy, so the card has lived quietly in my wallet all that time.

Yesterday, I finally figured out something to spend it on: a Polar S120 heart rate monitor. Used it this morning on the treadmill. It came with its own chest strap, so now I can keep one at the treadmill and one in the duffel bag that I carry to meets.
