Strength (bread) 30:00 [3]

~1500 hand bombed.
~1000 with two-wheeler.

Legs feel good today.
6 PM

Running warm up/down 10:34 [1] 2.2 km (4:48 / km)

Warm up run from home to High Park along Bloor.

Orienteering (sprint? middle?) 40:32 [4] 6.4 km (6:20 / km)

First TOC Wednesday night meet of the year.

At 6.4 km it was not a sprint, but not a middle...either way, great to be navigating through a course with a map.

Ribbons for controls. A couple decent route choice legs.

Would be super terrific if the map was updated to international sprint standards.

Lots of control circle bobbles, in/out of the controls. I really shouldn't be bobbling in an area I know so well.

Felt good to grind it out. Knee fine.

Etienne Brulé next week.
7 PM

Running warm up/down 13:44 [1] 2.62 km (5:15 / km)

Cool down from finish at Grenadier Cafe to home.

Strength (bread) 45:00 [3]

~3000 units hand bombed at 11:30pm. Wakey wakey!
~2000 with two-wheeler.

Body maintenance (Stretching) 15:00 [3]

Tight knee. Lots of up and down on the truck today. Was going to run home from work, but my ridiculous 17 hour work day did me in.

TOC Wednesday night 'stealth mode' at High Park tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing what's going on with the map. Maybe still the early 90's map Gabor used for a Thomass?

Either way, one day it will be one of the anchor maps for a sprint camp.

Looking pretty fast there. They've been doing some controlled burns of the savannah...undergrowth is minimal.

Running 36:37 [3] 8.01 km (4:34 / km) +61m 4:24 / km

Finally!

First run since surgery. Rail path and the perimeter of High Park ending at the Grenadier Cafe to meet Thanh and Anabel for a terrible breakfast in a nice setting on a gorgeous morning.

Seems like my stride only knows how to run at one pace.

Knee felt good. A little tight afterwards...but to be expected.

Looking forward to getting fit. Hopefully my body complies.

I have to admit that I was probably at my peak fitness at 17, and never reached my full potential. Interested to see what my peak fitness will be in my late thirties/early forties because there's no doubt I'm going to give'er pretty hard...

OOA AGM later on today...

...before Anabel's gymnastics class, while she did some wicked 'handstands' up against the walls and couch. The best.
