| Had mixed weather today - multiple small cells bringing sun/squalls in alternating fashion. Climbed Bear Glacier after the mandatory beacon check and mock search training. Took a nice run into Little Bear Glacier and down through an old burn. Pretty sketchy entrance along corniced ridge. Blew a ski for the only time for the week on a pretty steep roll that surprised me in the flat light. Had to do the sketchy ridge in reverse to get out of Little Bear. Wind was howling. Finally traversed across the first bit of the Pyrite Range and dropped down for a run across Centurion Glacier. Had to do a few little moves to get down the toe then had a nice powder run before a 30' slog up the Gold River to our camp.
Had 6:53 in 100-165 bpm range and 2min 30 in >160 bpm range. I think the BC skiing gives a good Zone 1-2 workout depending on traverse / ascent. Didn't count any downhills as anything that fun can't really be called training. |

| The morning was taken up with logistics: meeting up with the guides, sorting out transport to the staging area, meeting the other guests, etc. etc. Finally flew out of 'the harbour' on the south end of Kinbasket Lake and into Moberly Pass. Spent the afternoon setting up camp and getting the cook tent set up, etc. No skiing today but lots of snow with almost 2.5m of snowpack in the valley. |

| Quick jog up the hill to FFTW before heading off to Golden. |
 | Note | |
| |
| Arrived late into Golden after almost running out of gas on the Icefields Parkway. Had an amazing dinner at the Post Hotel in Lake Louise - recommended if you have the time and the wherewithall to make it work.
Repacked and got ready for the morning flight. |

| Last hockey session of the season for me. Time to launder the jock - once a year whether it needs it or not... |

| Usual run, usual running partners. |
Tuesday Mar 11 |
 | Trail running 1:00:00 [3] | |

| Ran down to Moore's Meadow for the first time in a long time. Good fun and felt like I was flying on the sidewalk after all the slogging in deep snow. |

| Still feeling lousy. Adductors/sartorius sore.
Ran up to the lookoff via UNBC as I thought this would be an easier / different route. Had to post-hole through a 2" rain crust for over a km. What fun. What a mistake. At least the view from the top was nice. Made me feel better immediately. I know Regnly was laughing as he trotted on the crust. |
