Trail running 1:30:00 [3]

Another blue sky day. Did a moderately paced run with Regnly, around the usual trails. No wildlife today - unusual, but probably due to all the humanoids on the trails today.

Note

Week review.
Had a good week in general. Missing a couple of days of training which hurts the total volume but I had pretty good quality trainings, especially in Kristiansand. The heavy workload when I got back was the hardest thing to deal with and normally I wouldn't work 4 overnights in a row like that.
Luckily the weather has been excellent with this high pressure system parked overhead for the last week so getting out the door was easier than usual. I still hope to get over 40 hours for the month with a bit of quality at the Ottawa events. Main challenges for the upcoming week are the travel and unpredictable schedule during visit with Josh. Will probably have a forced rest day on Thursday and a lighter day on Friday...

Trail running 1:59:00 [2]

Easy run with Anita and Regnly out through Forests for the World. Saw a nice looking bull moose up close (50 ft). Got to watch him for a bit before he wandered off. He didn't seem too bothered by Regnly. Beautiful weather and the single track was in perfect condition. Doesn't get any better than this...

Note
(rest day)

Had a quick turn around between shifts and so I decided not to push it too much. Quite tired today but it was a tough call. Sometimes I feel way better after even a short run.

Trail running 1:33:00 [2]

Easy trail run after the overnight shift. Nice day out so had to capitalize. Got turned around on the trail by a big momma moose and her calf who were standing their ground. She did not look happy to see us.

Bicycle commute 30:00 [1]

Note

Travel day, Kristiansand to PG. Basically a write-off day although I could count 5 minutes running down the hill carrying my bag to catch a bus that never showed up. Should I log it as a sprint, strength or emotional rollercoaster ending in disappointment.

Road running warm up/down 23:00 [2]

Orienteering 35:00 [3]

The weather turns on a dime here and so I was happy to have two sprint courses in the back pocket for a rainy day like today.
The courses were down by Holger and Sandy's work places, in a neighborhood that I hadn't really run in before. It was mostly streets but some sections of forest that included the outdoor 'fylkesmuseum'. The courses were nice and I felt like I had pretty good Flow through the first course and the first half of the second course. After a while I was getting cold and wet and losing concentration and with the water on the map I had trouble reading some fine details and ran into a couple of traps.

Heading back home tomorrow. Luckily Holger is back so my babysitting duties have been fulfilled. Thanks to him for making me a monkey's uncle once more.

Road running 35:00 [2]

Cruised over to Bymarka with Holger to do KOK's weekly forest training. Another beautiful day. 5 for 7 on this trip!

Orienteering 1:06:00 [3]

Did the two weekly trainings: short and long on a forested 1:5k map. Short was like a long course 2 or a course 3. The map was good and the terrain faster than normal with a lot of leaves down. The long course was much more interesting with fast route choices, the paths coming quite quickly and the controls coming fast - made you feel like a superstar.
