Burnham is a fantastic area, causes problems that you really think it shouldn't - helped by having some first rate planners! First long course for a while - and it showed. Was aiming for under 90 for definite, but felt 80 should have been achievable, and would have been had I been a bit more switched on. Some great long legs which had no obvious right or wrong route choice, just had to stick close to the straight line and avoid the rubbish (which, of course, I didn't manage). Got the tricky bit right, messed up the vague bits again... compass work on the whole was poor. Towards the end was quite knackered, missed the obvious route choices and ended up using far much more effort than was really necessary.
Still managed to beat angryhaggis though, total mistakes of around 10 minutes really needs to be sorted out though, ideally for next week's rather important race, where a clean run will be very important. Have got to force myself to concentrate in the fast vague bits, as it seems this is where the mistakes will be made - the features are a bit more distinct on Leith and have to make sure I pick them up and relate to the map.
Oh - and I didn't feel the injury ar all today - must go for a couple of runs this week, on some soft terrain.
