Jog round parts of warm-up map before the sprint race. Felt a bit heavy legged but decided to go for it anyway...

UK Cup Final Sprint, Shrewsbury. A fun race but legs and body certainly not with it, didn't feel anything like I did on Tuesday evening. Couple of 20" misses, one with poor route-choice and going part-way down a dead alley, other missing my turn thinking the road was too big and having to double back. And time-loss to #2 just through being overly hesitant a few too many times. Distance run was 4.25km

UK Cup Final - middle race. Shouldn't have run. Slight headache on the start line, thought it might go but should have listened. Routes were poor and controls appearing before I thought they should early on in the course, then starting missing the obvious easy route choices which meant fighting/stumbling around in the chest to head-high bracken. Got more and more frustrated, kept on hitting shin on branches hidden amongst the bracken and cursing more and more loudly every time it happened. Mind gave up, body gave up, I should have jacked but for some reason decided to finish. Lost 20 minutes from control #7 to control #19, only spiked 6 of 19 in the forest... Garmin distance: 7.75km
Note
(sick)
So the headache was still there after the run, felt really groggy and out of it and didn't really want to do anything. Got back to youth hostel and dozed/slept for 3 hours, shower and food then helped a little, before going back to sleep for a good 8 hours. Woke up coughing quite a bit but without a headache...
