Saturday Jun 28

Note
(rest day)
Plan to go out for a run got binned with last-minute finish presentation followed by popping into Univ for the master's retirement party. Went home via Morrell Avenue - new time to beat is 2.17

Off to Paris for a conference early tomorrow, have a feeling that this might be a 'rest week' - looks like will be very warm on Tuesday and then drop off a bit.

Note
(rest day)
Definitely feeling a bit more alive today, however only effort of note was cycling up Morrell Avenue - 2.35 is the current reference time...

Cycling 27:56 [3]8.5 km (3:17 / km) +120m 3:04 / km

Cycle up to Youlbury - headwind and hill most of the way, and slightly tired legs, meant it felt a slow and weary cycle.
Orienteering 22:50 [5]*** 3.7 km (6:10 / km) +110m 5:22 / km
ahr:193 max:202 spiked:16/18c shoes: 2007 Falcons
Youlbury Summer Series, felt quite sluggish especially up the hills, certainly didn't feel that the pace should have warranted such a high HR... but have been feeling slightly off the last couple of days.

Pretty solid with the navigation though, albeit on an area I know well - just a few little wobbles on route/hesitation. Brought a third win of the series, only one way to improve the score now...

Garmin distance: 3.9km (so pretty close to the straight line)
Cycling 20:35 [2]8.7 km (2:22 / km) +30m 2:20 / km
ahr:142 max:172
Back home from Youlbury, much nicer downhill and a bit of a tailwind. Feeling far better than earlier in the day - looks like exercise can do you good :)

Tuesday Jun 24

Note
(rest day)
Felt not-quite-right for most of the day, so had a rest.

Monday Jun 23

Circuits 38:00 [2]
Circuits, guest appearances from Per, Timmeo and Ruth - Per's quads were even more knackered than yesterday so he had a bit of a stretch to try to recover. Pretty warm, felt a bit lethargic and my quads/other muscles were still a little stiff...
