Southern Champs, Hambleden. Fast and hilly forest, not as fit as was last time I ran here, deliberately set out to walk up all of the steeper hills so that I'd survive the course. One really poor 2.5 minute error on a simple control when didn't check the compass enough and got dragged 90 degrees off from where I should have been... Confused a little by the mapping at #23, a couple of other 15 second misses in the circle, and dragged off line by the contours on a number of occasions.
Generally happy to get round the course and pleasantly surprised I could keep going for that long. Didn't feel anywhere near as knackered as at Epping last weekend, was still running OK on the paths/flat after 2 hours - probably because the forest is so runnable.

Wander up to the eastern spur to collect some controls - taking it easy in the afternoon sunshine. The ride where the start was didn't look like anyone had been along there - just covered in pine needles and cones. Amazing how runnable the majority of the forest is!
