Warm up/down 12:00 [2] 2.25 km (5:20 / km)
shoes: 2013 VJ Supra

Snow finally stopped falling - wind still pretty chilling though. Advantage of snow/ice on the pavements is that running on tarmac in dobs is better - gave me the chance to break in the new shoes.

Over to Shobnall Fields via the canal.

Running intervals 24:30 [4]
shoes: 2013 VJ Supra

Grass/snow reps on Shobnall Fields. 6 x (3' on, 1' rest).

Didn't feel like I was going particularly fast, and wasn't (probably 750m for 'best' rep) - the lying snow and cold northeasterly added to the resistance. Probably not the conditions to run this session and get the best benefit from it...

Warm up/down 9:30 [1] 1.6 km (5:56 / km)
shoes: 2013 VJ Supra

Very easy home from Shobnall.

Note

Dry this morning, with less snow than expected, but really grotty at times now - flakes travelling horizontally past the office this afternoon. Not a particularly pleasant cycle back to the station...

Running 1:20:00 [3] 14.8 km (5:24 / km) +160m 5:08 / km
shoes: La Sportiva C-Lite

Almost the same run as on 17th Feb, but getting the route right this time, and cutting off one of the small diversions. Quads let me know about yesterday when going up the Oaks Wood steps; body was feeling not quite right but pace wasn't too bad.

JK details out - at 17.9k, the classic looks to be about the right distance for a 90+ minute winning time...

Cycling 2:05:00 [3] 53.0 km (25.4 kph) +580m
shoes: Shimano Road Shoes

Intended route from a couple of weeks ago, this time with a functioning bike. Hanbury climb felt easier, but the rest of the hills on the route confirmed the cycling/climbing strength is severely lacking at the moment.

Route: Up to Anslow Gate - Tutbury - Hanbury - Marchington Cliff - Newborough - Jackson's Bank - Scotch Hill - Barton - Tatenhill - Rangemore - home.
