A big head-on accident happened right in front of me near the top of the Chifley Road hill just after Lithgow. A camper trailer being towed by a 4WD started rolling on a bend and collided with a car coming down the other way. Being the first car below the accident I made sure no more cars would come up to the accident site. Others attended to the occupants while I called 000. The 4WD occupants seemed unhurt after a 3/4 roll but the car occupants were trapped until the ambos arrived. I'm surprised the driver was conscious (and alive) after the bouncing trailer smashed through the front windscreen. Road still closed in both directions more than 7 hours after the accident.
