Poor bearing to #5 then compounded error by losing too much height (lost 9:30). Moved up another spot to 6th overall (47' behind Cormac). 17°C. TE 3.5.

"Lovelybanks East", Melton Mowbray (TAS). M55AS/Course 14: 3.4km, +80m, 10c. 8th/10 (25:55 behind Cormac McCarthy). Terrible run. Mistakes on virtually every bush control. Stopped too soon on #1, annoyed that I backtracked (lost 5'). Missed #2 to left (-8'). #3 OK. Misread leg 4-5 as leg 3-4 (-1:45). Took wrong track and ended up back at start instead of #5 (-2:30). Overran #6 on right (-4'). Checked on sad-looking Alvin sitting on a rock waiting for medical - broken arm. #7-11 OK. 12°C. No HRM.

Rental car had a few disclosed scratches and chips. I doubled this number on my pre-collection walkaround.
