St Leonards<>The Rocks. Appointed as an umpire for the Oz Day 10km wheelchair race around The Rocks. Parked near St Leonards and rode my old MTB over the Harbour Bridge and back again afterwards. Pretty straightforward at my position near the 1.5/1.7km mark of the 3-lap out-and-back course. Just 34 starters this year, but one of the racers crashed in the first 500m and withdrew. A special mention to 9yo Brydi Saul who completed the entire distance despite falling out of her WC at the first 180-degree turn. Winners again were Tomoki Suzuki (JPN) and Madi de Rozario (AUS). 24°C. TE 2.5.
