Out with John in very little traffic. Skiing was pretty okay all things considered. Fresh grooming, which of course froze in to ruts.

Out with John and John in the lead, and we pretty quickly got ahead of the field. Which was nice, because conditions were sketchy enough that no one wanted to push the pace too much. Fell off the back a couple of times on Mount Weston, but came in to the transition with the Johns.
And then … I couldn't get my skis back on. They skied away as I cursed, and I never closed the gap. John S gapped John S (wait, damnit. Sakolowsky gapped Swain) and I kept pace with Swain, but 10s behind. No one near me, and I went from high L3 to low L3 it turns out. A couple herring bone strokes on the top of Mount Weston, because I was concerned with breaking poles, too.
It was fast, at least.

There were beers for the winners (well, the finishers) and I figured what a better way to close out Weston than ski around drinking a beer.
This was a good idea.
John was driving home, too.
