Note

A friend will help you move. A really good friend will help you move a body.

Today I was a friend.

Run 47:03 [2] 6.0 mi (7:51 / mi) +134m 7:20 / mi

Long day of driving/family/flat tires/etc ended up with a great road/trail run in Maine. Ran 8s going out and then on the way back laid down and ran sub-7s for a couple miles (downhill, gradually) feeling really good. All on what my dad would call a "dumb road" (an old woods road which actually went somewhere, actually). Yes to cool weather!

Run 31:00 [1] 3.6 mi (8:37 / mi)

Ran home from work for a couple of things.

Note

On the minus side, it was downpouring when I was going to run. On the plus side, I biked 16 miles, all on shared bikes, in only light rain.

Run hills 22:00 [2] 1.0 mi (22:00 / mi) +250m 12:23 / mi

How to cure a hangover. Go run stadia in the sun. You will sweat it out. Oh yes you will. Half a workout, because I had to get going.
10 AM

Bicycle 40:07 [1] 8.9 mi (4:30 / mi) +15m 4:29 / mi

So how to you pick up a car in Hampton, NH? You take the train to Newburyport, and ride bikes from there. With a heavy pack. Lovely day for a ride, though, to get a car that does things like have four operable cylinders, start without a prayer, have operable windows and doors and that's easy to slide a bike/skis in to. Hooray!

Also, I biked across a state line for the first time ever. This is super lame, although to my credit I have crossed fifteen separate state lines on foot. So that is a thing.
7 PM

Trail Run 1:04:23 [2] 5.0 mi (12:53 / mi) +444m 10:06 / mi

If I had been smart, I would have driven home after a day carousing around NH. But it was so nice—cool, crisp and windy—that I had to go for a trail run. 5 miles with 500m or so of climb later, I was pretty beat.

Bicycle 37:16 [1] 7.0 mi (5:19 / mi) +90m 5:07 / mi

Biking to dinner with friends. Lots of traffic, thankfully little rain. Oh, made a stop for beer.
11 PM

Bicycle 29:42 [1] 7.1 mi (4:11 / mi)

Biking home, a little tipsy and a lot faster. But it felt a whole lot faster. No traffic, though, nice! Managed 21 mph on the Putnam to Post Office segment, third best ever. No traffic made that easier.

Core 15:00 [2]

Push ups, planks, burpees. Did not feel great, went pretty easy.
6 AM

Run 25:49 [1] 2.8 mi (9:13 / mi)

Ran across town to NP. Felt pretty icky. Ugh, frog/lump in throat, go away, and don't become more of a cold. Still pretty warm and muggy out. Boo.
