Ski ski ski ski ski.

Off to Prospect for the promise of good skiing. It was … good. Not as good as was reported last Wednesday, but skiable. Squirrely and slow, good for balance and my legs are going to hurt tomorrow. A bit of no-poles and then poles. A few rocks and thin and wet spots, but skiing! Not rollerskiing, but skiing! In November! Woo!

More skiing! Drew stayed in, but I had to go back out for another loop. It was sort of thinking of snowing all day, and then when it decided to, it went full bore. It got real slow, and I couldn't see the turns ahead of me on the downhills, but it was fun and snowy and I got wet and headed in.

And I remembered how goddamn hard skiing is.

Then Route 9 was a skating rink but luckily mostly for people going the other direction. No snow in Brattleboro. Prospect won't survive this week's meltdown, but I've now skied ~3 hours more this year Nov/Dec than last year (which was zero).

Note

Feel bad about not training for a couple of days, but maybe the best thing to do when you have a cold is not go out and put in junk miles in the cold. Still doing my pull ups (although might not be able to in NYC. Maybe on the subway?)
