Note

Apparently Julia Child was a huge Gold Fish fan. This made my day.
7 PM

Run 43:00 [1] 5.3 mi (8:07 / mi) +23m 8:00 / mi

Run around Evanston along the lake and some other roads. Lake breeze = nice and cool! Legs still tired from Sunday.

Trail Run 1:51:30 [3] 7.9 mi (14:07 / mi) +847m 10:35 / mi

Gotta get my hills in!

I went with Sarah to try on Scarpa AT boots. Found my size, and she is going to see if there are any free demos that come along, otherwise I can order from her. Not a bad deal! Almost at an AT setup! Also felt up their prototype $3000 carbon boots which weigh basically nothing. But cost $3000.

She had some work to get done so I took a spin in the mountains. Goal was to be back in time to make the bus to the airport, fallback was to chase the bus a couple stops down the road (it loses time loading passengers, and with some convoluted routings). She didn't think I'd make it.

54 minutes up Bear Peak, 2700'. Big rock steps. L3, sweating, feels like New England with sparser tree cover. Then jello legs down, not quite hitting my splits, but the trail that signage said was closed was open, and 7:30 miles in got me to the bus with a minute to spare. Success!

Hiking 3:00:00 [1] 7.6 mi (23:41 / mi) +218m 21:45 / mi

Hike with Lin, her BF and Sarah up to Isabella Lake, which was stunningly gorgeous. Still mostly frozen, and most of the hiking on snow. Blue skies, amazing mountains, need to move to Colorado. Not too crowded, even! Then wedding.

Run 28:28 [1] 1.7 mi (16:45 / mi) +128m 13:34 / mi

Then it was off to the third NP, third time zone of the week! Thursday in to Denver for a pre-wedding baseball game, then Ali and I went off to the NP Denver (she is a regular at the pledge group in Fort Collins) for the fun there.

We ran up and down hills. Again.

Trail Run 1:19:14 [1] 5.4 mi (14:40 / mi) +258m 12:47 / mi

Running late for a group hike, we ran to catch the group, and would have by the destination if we'd gone down the road instead of up it. Ran out, walked back.
