Trail Run 21:11 [1] 1.65 mi (12:50 / mi) +119m 10:29 / mi

Warming up with Alex. The breakfast sandwich was excellent but maybe a bit too close to the race. It kind of stopped raining but it's wet.

Trail Run 17:17 [4] 1.78 mi (9:43 / mi) +235m 6:53 / mi

Then up the mountain. Went out hard. Immediately wished I had brought the poles and immediately felt Wednesday's stadiums. Backed off a bit, found some hands on knees, made it up with some struggles, lots of fun taste in mouth, and was pretty glad that we weren't going to the summit.

Gave my monies to T2, didn't win any raffles though.

Trail Run 58:06 [1] 3.46 mi (16:48 / mi) +333m 12:56 / mi

Racing, anyway, but had a nice hike/run up and run/hike down.

Note

Wow three days with 0 hours.

Of course the last two days I did walk 6 and bike 30, give or take. Just not logged.

I'll call it "injury prevention"

Off to run a mountain tomorrow.

Note

Feeling really good about the marathon and stadium PRs. Especially since the stadium was less than ideal (but really pretty good) conditions.

Anyhow, plans/ideas for the next few weekends:

This weekend: Stratton run on Sunday
11/6-7: Greylock rollerski? Although the US model has been a bit bullish at times on a storm which could disrupt that.
11/13-14: November Project event in San Diego
11/20-21: Traverse! If it happens. If not, and there's not skiing, that would be a good Skyline-to-Skyline
11/28-29: Thanksgiving. Going to Maine with the family, I think. Then I really need to reach out to EMXC about coaching.

And then it's December.

Taking a peek, I need 60h of training to hit 500h and 8000m of climb to find 100km and, wow, that's all going to happen again.

Run 8:59 [1] 1.07 mi (8:24 / mi) +14m 8:04 / mi
ahr:174 max:189

Nice weather today (KBOS 270954Z 02037G49KT 4SM -RA BR FEW009 BKN016 OVC022) and biking on wet leaves in the wind didn't sound that great, so I ran down to the 66 bus.

Would have been early to NP except for all the red lights; come on, we can figure this out.

Stadiums 22:36 [4] 1.0 mi (22:36 / mi) +524m 8:36 / mi

We met underneath the stadium, which tells you about the weather (as does the METAR posted above). But the stadium itself was pretty nice. Wet, yes, windy, sure, but that just keeps you from overheating. 51˚ was kind of perfect, although I got a bit warm by the end.

Ran a pretty even, hard workout. Couldn't really read my watch with the rain and dark, but a couple of peeks showed that I was on a PR pace. I didn't really let up, and had some gas in the tank for the last section, and made it to the top 19 seconds ahead of pace! First PR since March 2019, biggest time off since 2017. I guess we did lose a season and a half of PR weather, though.

This felt great. Almost puked at the end. I think there's some time on a dry, cool day to find in those stairs.

Run 6:24 [1] 0.66 mi (9:42 / mi) +3m 9:33 / mi

Chatted with Chris Stock for a while and then ran to the T for a transfer ride home. New train on the Orange Line!

For whatever reason, I had to go and manually click these to upload from Suunto to my log. Will report to management if it continues.

Run 29:13 [1] 3.22 mi (9:04 / mi) +40m 8:44 / mi
ahr:122 max:187

I was going to go off to to bikeshare score-o, but then all the points disappeared because the system realized no one was biking in the rain. I did get 8 points for my first trip. I am not raking it in this month as I had planned, damn weather, marathon, etc.

So I ran home, then ran a heavy compost bucket down to the collection site, then home again.

Not a ton of get-up-and-go in this weather without anything clearly to run for.
