Trail Run 4:03:51 [1] 12.64 mi (19:18 / mi) +1241m 14:47 / mi
ahr:176 max:217

Off to the Bigelows. Not the greatest macro planning since it meant a lot of driving, but they're so nice, and Lincoln and Jess were up for it. So we went up to B21 and picked them up, then up over the ridge. Ran it clockwise, which I actually like much better than counter, which is the way I've always done it. Up Horns Pond Trail is a nice hike/jog, and then the steps mean the super steep section down from the col is not too rough on the legs. Will probably do this more.

We chatted with friends of Jess, who then ran off to the north peak. It was cold but dry on top with flurries but the trail was dry, and busier than yesterday but not too busy or windy. Great color and views. Elena didn't join us for Avery and we caught her at the bottom of the steeps, then ran part way out but stopped for some amazing color.

Then back to camp via B10 because Lincoln gave Elena a ride there and I drove with Jess. Elena enjoyed the ride!

Trail Run 2:01:49 [1] 6.69 mi (18:12 / mi) +616m 14:09 / mi
ahr:125 max:203

This is the way to run Saddleback! Slightly longer drive, and then we headed up the Fly Rod Crosby trail. I saw the Stream Bed Trail and said "let's try that" and it cut off half a mile. So it was an easy jog to the AT, then a nice climb up into the cold fog, and then down the ski slopes. A lovely loop.

Warm and sunny, so a lovely day for a bike ride, and they let us out early, so let's go! Out the path and then out to Carlisle and back towards Concord. Thought about going out to Bruce Freeman and taking that back but it would have been extra distance. Had a guy draft me from Route 2 to Baker Bridge, dropped him through Lincoln, took a wrong turn and circled back to get to Trapelo, and then shifted up and my chain went over the ring (need to fix the limit screws) and I was already going down the big hill so I figured "well I just won't pedal and coast to a stop and reseat it at the bottom."

It was very jammed at the bottom no matter. After a few minutes of trying to wrench it out I decided to take off the big ring. Out came the tool, out came the screws, and one of the threads fell into the grass. I got the chain out and then couldn't find the errant thread. I figured I could ride to Wheelworks on the little ring and hopefully not screw things up majorly, but I'd put in a real college try and after about 15 minutes of searching found the damn thing (with another cyclist stopped to help—or at least offer moral support—and other cyclists and drivers stopped to offer help and/or a ride).

The rest of the ride was fine and the trip from Trapelo down to my neighborhood quite easy. Might mostly escape out that way going forward!

Run 24:30 [1] 2.76 mi (8:53 / mi) +19m 8:42 / mi
ahr:149 max:209

Over to track. Didn't feel great and ran late, but a short workout that made sense for me. First 800 felt good, as did the last 400. The 400s felt good after the 800s.

Then I ran over to feed Thumper, saw a friend in Harvard, and had a cat climbing all over my keyboard during a meeting. Lucky for me my work machine is a touchscreen so I didn't need the keyboard as much.

Run 9:38 [4] 1.74 mi (5:32 / mi)

The workout was some "centipede" thing which was way to complicated so I dod 50 in the rain. Still a bit warm but nice.

Run 4:43 [1] 0.5 mi (9:26 / mi) +2m 9:19 / mi
ahr:104 max:121

Got a bit chilly on the way home though.
