Ooh, Greens! Had about 7 hours between thing to ski, and Greens did not disappoint. A few thin sections, but otherwise really quite nice grooming on corn snow over a solid base. Hopefully they can get some snow over it. Just over 2h, which is exactly what I wanted, a bit of adventure skiing, but mostly just fast skating. Felt really good, hopefully that holds through the next 6 days.

6 days to Birkie!

Moar bikeshare score-o. Five point rides out of Harvard. One sprint to get back to station in time.

Skiing seemed suboptimal and there was traffic to the Blue Hills, so Elena and I went on a nice easy run around the river. Nice running weather.

We found a wallet belonging to a NSHS student along the way. Later we were out we saw a bunch of high school-looking students near Harvard and inquired and it was a speech and debate tournament. A guy looked up the student and she is part of the tournament. So tomorrow we are dropping the wallet off for her.

Another fun day of Bikeshare Score-O. Got some good running in and got some points. Unfortunately the "map" is a screen so it's hard to look at it while running and not dropping it or tripping; it turns out, the screen is a very expensive map. The problem is that the map updates, so it really needs to be on the screen.

So the Somerville Project is on temporary hold since BlueBikes has a highly-gamified promo going on for the next four weeks. For their (yeah, ironic) you get things for certain numbers of rides. The big deal is at 65 rides you get a free annual pass, which is worth more than $100, so now each ride is worth more than $1.50. But it has to be 5 minutes long.

So now Bikeshare Score-O is an optimization game between finding sprints between stations with high point values and which also have a 5ish minute ride in between.

Luckily it's about a five minute run from Kendall Square's point sink to generating locations, so I was able to run/bike down there, run around to some stations, move some bikes, and run back. Weather good for it, but my hands were chilly by the end. Got 6 rides in, and about 25 points. Lots of rides where I'd have to wait a bit for my phone to show 5m, and then dock the bike. Kind of fun.

Running felt okay. A little heartburn from, you know, messing up my GI tract the other day.

Note

Feeling way better … if there was good snow at Weston I'd go. But there is not.

Note

Time bomb went kaboom at 2130 last night. Turns out all the stuff people were doing in March 2020? That was the right thing to do … for noro.

Note
(sick)

I have now eaten about 70 calories in 36 hours. I guess the timing could have been a lot worse! Not sure if I'll make it to Worlds tomorrow (or if there will be snow for Worlds).
