Most of yellow, most of white.

Parked where there was space, onto yellow, cut off the very end where it goes away from the parking lot.

On to white, and would have done the rest of it plus the rest of yellow but I was out of water. Nice in the shade, but warm. Felt pretty good on the trails, nice to run easy trails that AP thinks are roads.

Dan's birthday was on Sunday. Wound up in a living room with the 1988 OTQ 4th place finisher on one side (2:14) and women's cross-country record-holder on the other. Everyone is a Harvard professor.

I guess I'm the only one who made the front page of the Globe the day after the marathon, though.

Felt okay with the O today. Ran the first few controls well, losing some time because I just didn't want muddy shoes. I ran 8 well, saw the control, and thought "nah, that's not my control" and circled around it for a bit, so another minute lost. Edmands has just enough terrain and trees to actually feel like woods.

Running late enough to NP to do a Bikeshare Score-O.

There was only an e-bike there and my preferences are that if there is only an e-bike I can ride it free as an "e-bike with low assist."

I actually liked this more than the e-bike with full assist. It's still easier than a regular bike. The acceleration is helped a lot, but it doesn't jump when you put your foot on the pedal. And the speed tops out at about 12 mph, not 18. It also doesn't hit a top speed and then accelerate and decelerate. Wouldn't exactly seek it out, but nice to know it works.

I knew I wasn't going to PR today, but thought mid-20s might be doable. But it was warm in the sun and while I did reasonably, I got to the shade and couldn't cool down. I had to lie down on the steps at section 10 to bleed some heat off (in addition to drinking water; I didn't bring anything frozen) before slowing down for a few sections. Forgot how hot the sun is this time of year.
