Back at it! It took until the end of 2016/early 2017 to figure out the source of the check/neck pain that was holding me back. By then, I was spending more time writing up my phd then I did being active but we slowly started training for a bicycle touring trip that D-bag and I had planned. I graduated in May, finished some things up in the lab and moved in June, then flew out to Newfoundland in July with the goal of cycling as far back towards home as we could get before Soles's wedding. We took the scenic route (including the Cabot trail!) and ended at Riviere du Loup 3000km later in on Sept 4th, exactly 2 months from the start of our trip.
In Oct, we moved to the UK for a postdoc position with a few suitcases in tow. No room for the bicycles (yet) so we've replaced those for our running shoes again as we explore our new home by foot.
We were sad to miss the Waterfall Run this year! We were there in spirit with our own version at a balmy 2C with not a hint of ice.
