Running 45:00 [3] 9.0 km (5:00 / km) +150m 4:37 / km

Tried doing the same run as yesterday, to see if I could get any quicker at it. I couldn't. I still felt as if I had no power in me, so I'm thinking of resting tomorrow so that I don't overdo it before the Cold Ash National event.

Running 45:00 [3] 9.0 km (5:00 / km) +150m 4:37 / km

Another training run on the bridleways near home, past Youlbury Scout Camp, down to Chilswell Farm and then back up to Chilswell Priory. It was a surprise to meet Helen out there, she seemed surprised to see me too!

Some of the paths are still quite muddy, in particular it wasn't too easy coming back over the top of Cumnor Hill when your shoes weigh twice as much as they should! And curse that damned farmer who has put electric fences either side of the bridleway that heads towards Chilswell Farm from the southwest. Part of the path is a muddy puddle which I used to go around, but now I have to run over it and risk slipping over and getting zapped by the fence just to add insult to injury. Fortunately that didn't happen today.

That aside, I wasn't going as fast as I felt I should be. I just didn't seem to have any power.

Circuits 1:00:00 [4]

About time I did some more training, since I've not done any since last Friday! Anyway, it was back at Brookes for an identical circuit to last week, 50s on 10s off for one loop plus 3. I even started in the same place in the circuit!

I didn't feel quite as breathless as I did last time. Surely my lack of training over the last few days isn't the reason for that?! Perhaps it was because I walked my bike up the hill instead of cycling it up.

Anyway, I had better get more training done this week - I've got 12.9km to run this Sunday!
