NAOC sprinty sprint

sprints are fun! I felt really fast even though I was actually pretty slow... but I thoroughly enjoyed myself anyway. I'm not broken up over my result, because I could stand to do a lot more running training, and with that I think my speed will increase. And my times on sprints will be better.

NAOC long.... BLARHH. Definitely the LONG-est I've spent on a course in recent memory. I finished, but I was really unfocused and demoralized after control three, which I spent nearly an hour and a half on (yep. I had no idea what I was doing, and I kept dawdling and wandering around instead of proactively trying to relocate myself), so it was pretty hard to run it through. I was seriously considering dnf-ing in the middle of the course. But as it turned out, it didn't matter either way, because I was overtime so I dnf'ed anyway! :(

Orienteering 51:03 [3] 3.4 km (15:01 / km) +60m 13:48 / km

NAOC middle distance! This was by far my best race of the weekend... but it wasn't the best race I could have run. I could have definitely made some faster route choices. I suppose what I did end up choosing in terms of routes was really safe, so it ensured I always knew where I was. And I'm not really in running shape, which I'm going to change this winter. So I could have been physically faster as well.
