Long run day. I decided to run downtown and then cross the river and run back on the trail on the north shore. I felt pretty good for the first 2/3 or so, in spite of the wind - probably because it was all flat/downhill. The last third or so was considerably slower, which makes sense considering it was more trail and there was about a mile of straight uphill right near the end. Overall a nice route, although I wish there was a way I could do it without all the uphill at the end.
The easy friday evening run is quite a nice thing. Maybe better than the friday long run? I guess we'll see, but I think this might be the new friday tradition...
Nice, easy run today. I was trying to run slower because I've kind of been failing at that lately, but I guess I didn't do a very good job of it, especially considering the excessive amount of time I spent waiting at red lights. Ah well, it was still a good run :)
Went out to the Montour Trail after work to do some intervals. I went the opposite direction from last time, which was alright except the trail was not paved in this direction, making running fast more of a challenge. I did 8 X (2 min fast, 1 min slow). I didn't feel great, partly because of the trail surface, and partly because my legs were tired from yesterday. It was a good workout though, and a beautiful day for running. I averaged between 6:50 and 7:20 pace on the intervals - I blame some of the variance on elevation change.
