Got out of my meeting super fast, so it seemed natural to stop at the gym before going home to make the trip to campus worth it. Turns out no one goes to the gym on Sunday so it was actually great.

Did the first half of this run with Kevin, then split off cause he was going like 11 miles and that was just not going to happen. For some reason, he always seems to take me on the hilliest possible routes, which I suppose is good but also leads to some amount of regret as I'm running up them. I was fine until we decided to turn and go up to Shady because the light was red, and he decided to sprint up the hill right after we got to the top of the last one. I pretty much died, although he claimed he was keeping 'a consistent pace,' even though everyone knows you slow down on hills. The whole way home was downhill though, so I had lots of time to recover. There was still a decent amount of slush of various sections of the sidewalk which made for a more interesting/slightly more wet experience. Beautiful weather though, and I'm glad Kevin convinced me to go with him cause otherwise I might not have run at all.

The cold and snow finally relented/melted enough that I decided to try running in the elements again. It was actually a really nice day, and perfect running temp in the low 30's - i.e. warm enough for a t-shrit (but with gloves, of course). I felt way better than I expected to after a week off of running for whatever reason. I rashly decided to come home on the trail through Schenley, which was 100% snow--covered still. It was very pretty, but something akin to running on sand. Thankfully I was going in the net downhill direction, but there was still a good amount of extra resistance training going on. Probably gonna have some sore hamstrings and calves from that one...

Strength 45:00 [4]

Finally an unrushed trip to the gym, and I got a good workout in! Because my senior design meeting went so long, I didn't have time to run today like I wanted to since I ended up spending all day on campus, but it was good that I was still able to get a workout in.
