Orienteering race 1:11:20 [4] 8.6 km (8:18 / km) +340m 6:56 / km

Happy about this race! I ran hard in the beginning but slowed down during the second half because we are supposed to not kill ourselves before JWOC. Had a lot of fun, difficult route choices, good weather.

Orienteering 55:06 [3] 4.3 km (12:48 / km) +100m 11:28 / km

First training in Switzerland. I felt really good in the beginning. There were no streamers in the woods so I had to be really precise entering the circle. I was pretty confident about the first half of the course (through #8), but after that I wasn't super sure I actually got to the feature. I had a hard time identifying the knolls. But I know I was within 50m of the control every time. Moving at an ok pace! It's much easier for me to run here than in Finland because the ground is not rocky. So even though it was slippery I was having the time of my life because my ankle wasn't freaking out at me every step. I did end up with a pretty dirty butt by the end though.
We took it pretty easy today because tomorrow we are racing in a relay event.

Running 25:00 [3] 4.1 km (6:06 / km)

5 min warm up, 2 x (90,60,30) with 60 rest, 2 x 30, 5ish min cool down.
My legs felt sluggish but better than I thought they would be on the hills. It was rainy and muggy so breathing wasn't spectacular.

Note

Woke up at 3 am this morning to fly to Zurich via London (what the heck). I got to the hostel at 7 after a very sweaty tram and bus ride and then walk. I was going to do a fartlek today but I'm pooped. Also hoping that more rest will make my hip happy.

Note

Walked around Antwerp for a while this afternoon.
11 AM

Running 32:43 [3] 5.29 km (6:11 / km)

Running with Klaas on a map two minutes from his house.
Soooo I don't want to jinx anything but my hip was feeling very good today... :) I hope it stays like this!
