Running 1:00:00 [3]

1 hour +; long day on the feet. Get Your Bearings was great---weather was perfect and it seems like a good time was had by all. 78 new racers were introduced to AR; I think 140 some racers all together.
I didn't think it would happen, but after the race I got out for another run unplugged. Still focusing on stride and cadence.

Running 1:00:00 [3]

1 hour +; Another day of "unplugged"...trail and hills. I was assured, if I do have Plantar Faciitis, that I could heel it in active recovery . Today I REALLY focused on NOT heel striking...my bad running form habit after all these years is very hard to break. I pretty much feel like I'm running on my tip toes. Trying to increase my cadence...then I feel like I am scurrying. It all feels abnormal now---hoping it starts to feel normal soon. Felt good to not care about time, distance, pace...I like the "unplugged' workouts. :-)

Yoga/Stretch 1:00:00 [3]

Calves were so tight, which I suspect is where the heel pain is coming from...really trying to stretch them out. Intended to do Core and Yoga, but time was short this week with the race. Just got yoga in.

Swimming 1:00:00 [3]

1 hour +; this is my week of "Michelle Unplugged"...besides a general idea of time, I am ignoring all things pace, speed, distance. Just me and my body and staying tuned in to what it is telling me.
My heel was sore swimming. Felt good to get the heart rate up.

Biking 1:00:00 [3] 10.0 mi (6:00 / mi)

Quick bike ride...roads +trail (Murray)...nice day to be out.
Lots of race planning to do!

Orienteering 2:29:00 [3] 5.82 mi (25:36 / mi) +95m 24:22 / mi

Wowsers! Highland is TOUGH...I had conveniently forgotten my massive fail last year. Should have gone after Green and not Red.

Had to bail at checkpoint 10 to get back to the start so Cooper could get on the course too....that's the problem with tag teaming---no time to get lost. :-)

The kids and I conquered "white" though....finished the day on a high note.

Foot felt pretty good---legs felt good after yesterday. Definitely ready for a recovery week though as my body is achy tonight.

Lessons learned: stay focused on my plan of attack (let myself get side-tracked by others....love seeing people out there but then I get confused)

: Ignore crazy trails that make no sense and focus on features that do.
