Orienteering 1:54:00 [3]

Orienteering....much better than last week, but still have a lot of polishing to do. Tracks didn't save, but here was my general route:
Start -1: Anyone else get stopped by the EF (I think) flag? That really confused me for a few seconds.
1-2: Trail; cut b/w two water bodies
2-3: Cut b/w two swamps but for some reason I thought I was south of it...no clue why, so I turned north "to check things out"...turned south and went right to it. Have no clue what I was thinking, except I think I was thinking it was worth a quick check just to make sure. I was right on top of it though, so that was frustrating.
3-4: All honesty--thank goodness I ran into Heidi and Middy. I had gone much further than I realized when I saw them and since they had picked up their 3, they were confident they new where they were.
4-5: North east and then east along the top of the big depression, north...got water and onto 5
5-15 ..Yes--I intentionally went to 15 without thinking. No clue why. Not a HUGE problem; I saw the number and realized what I'd done.
6-7: Got water and then skirted the swamp north west and cut between and then went straight north
7-8 Opted to go to trail and eat on the move...headed west, then south and
then cut south west and the trail intersection, hit the water and went south..felt pretty good on where I was on the road.
8-9 North to trail; took trail to hill top and then cut east to swamp and up and around
9-10 East to the south side of the swamps and then north--Cooper went north to the top and had a fast split. My route was thick and slow, but easy to nav.
10-11South east to trail and then north on next trail and then I got lucky I think cutting east b/c I waked right to it. I felt pretty certain I could see the small curve in the trail and the little hill top.
11-12: I intended to go east to trail, but I must have gone west --never knew it...so confused....made my way to the road and ran up the north trail next to the creek/swamp area. Thought I followed the ridge, but I missed it and had to double back...this one was a big mistake for me.
12-13: South to trail ..road...trail....Cut west off trail; no real issues.
13-14: no real issues; saw Cooper...at first I was bummed he'd caught up to me but then I realized I was heading to 14...he used to catch up to me back at 4 or 5 :-)
14-15 TERRIBLE route choice. First, I ran the bloody hill on the trail; then I missed 15...I'd been there already so I thought, "this will be easy"...how can such an easy point throw me off so much???
15-Finish...Another terrible route choice. First I headed west on the trail instead of south, then when I corrected myself, I headed south west off the main trail to the minor trail...why south west???? No clue.

:-)
