Event: Tiomila 2007

Note

Youth Relay a total success for Stora Tuna! It´s truly unreal to have had the first three teams punching together as 1-2-3 at the last control and then 1-2-4 into the finish!
It´s really sad that Anders couldn´t be part of the success as he had a sore throat and had to leave his spot on the team that eventually placed second :(
Maria ran a good second leg for her team and was a lot faster than what she had expected herself.

Women´s Relay a bit disappointing after our high hopes for the team.
Lena E was sick and couldn´t run and Susanna M on the first leg had a tough challenge getting into the team as substitute runner. She didn´t quite get into it and lost too much on one control for the team to be really in contention for the rest of the relay.
The rest of the runners did what they could/should and picked up a lot of places and even some time to finish in 13th place only 7½ minutes behind. Not bad, but not what we had hoped for.

Trail running warm up/down 10:00 [2] 1.0 km (10:00 / km)
shoes: VJ Falcon (2007)

Very easy warmup - as always when it´s a relay consisting mostly of the occasional rush and easy jogging off and on in the change-over area. Hard to estimate time and distance...

Orienteering race 44:15 [4] *** 5.1 km (8:41 / km)
ahr:136 max:158 shoes: VJ Falcon (2007)

Tiomila - running 3rd leg in the Veteran´s Relay in a combined team (Östersunds OK/Stora Tuna).
It was nice to get out and get a feel of the terrain that all other club teams were competing in.
Orienteering was generally OK with only a few small route choice errors (maybe 2x½ min) and one missed control (½ min). I was running mostly alone passing a few runners every now and then but basically taking care of my own pacing. Running felt OK and I think I could have run faster with a bit more company...

Trail running warm up/down 9:30 [2] 0.95 km (10:00 / km)
ahr:115 max:125 shoes: VJ Falcon (2007)

Very slow uphill running on an overgrown trail for part of the way.

Orienteering 38:00 [3] *** 3.0 km (12:40 / km)
ahr:118 max:137 shoes: VJ Falcon (2007)

O training at Vallmora - did two loops of ~1-1,5 km.
No maps left when I got to the start but after some waiting I finally got a map from one of the returning runners. I took it very easy and more or less jogged most of the first loop, pushed just a little bit harder on the second.

Trail running warm up/down 7:00 [3] 0.95 km (7:22 / km)
ahr:117 max:124 shoes: VJ Falcon (2007)

Back to the car - this time downhill.

OCAD/Sportident/MeOS (1:30:00) 1:00 [0]

Checking programming of SI units in the morning and preparing them for Emma E and a school orienteering she will organize tomorrow. Went to the club-house at night to deliver the equipment and chat a little with some of the runners that were training night O.

OCAD/Sportident/MeOS (45:00) 1:00 [0]

Upgrading some of our old SI units.

Trail running warm up/down 16:00 [3] 2.6 km (6:09 / km)
ahr:126 max:141 shoes: Brooks Cascadia

Warm-up before intervals

Trail running intervals 16:00 [4] 3.0 km (5:20 / km)
ahr:137 max:146 shoes: Brooks Cascadia

TNT from Skräddarbacken - trail intervals on the trails around Håkans berg. 8 x 2 min, 30 sec rest.
My legs didn't feel too great and I don´t know what´s wrong since I´ve been feeling slow and sluggish for the last two weeks... I couldn´t really get my heart rate up either since my legs protested before that. Managed to complete the whole loop once and then adding two more intervals before going back although my initial feeling was to quit after two intervals. The very first interval may have been too fast, but that shouldn´t really account for everything (?) - had big problems to run even when the trail was flat and was passed by Mats M there on both laps.

Trail running warm up/down 11:45 [3] 1.6 km (7:21 / km)
ahr:124 max:131 shoes: Brooks Cascadia

Stretching 6:00 [1]

Other club activities 1:00 [0]

Tiomila information and announcement of our teams. Information for the Youth Relay before the intervals and for Men and Women after.
We do have very good teams in all three relays - with good chances of victory in both Youth and Women´s Relays while a Top 10 placing is within reach for the Men.
