Walk 30:00 [1]

Symbolic numbers for all the walking done at our midsummer celebration in Ludvika.
This year it was hosted by us at Norsbro. 28 people present so the numbers are slowly dwindling from our high 60+ some 10-15 years ago. Quite a bit of rain off and on during the day and the evening but at least OK for our games and midsummer quiz.

To Tjärna bastu to go to veteran O - windy.

Orienteering race 43:00 intensity: (1:14 @1) + (27:44 @2) + (14:02 @3) 3.27 km (13:09 / km) +44m 12:19 / km
ahr:108 max:128 shoes: Icebug Spirit OLX 6-2016

Dala Veteran OL, Insjön/Leksand - H4
Walked H4 today since the terrain was very nice and open ("runnable" or in my case "walkable"). Nice to be out more in the terrain and not only on trails for a change. Minor time loss at #2 (0:30) but the rest was fine with mostly good visibility and nicely placed control flags.
GPS track messed up somehow since it goes straight from #3 to #9.
12 PM

Bike 9:16 intensity: (37 @1) + (3:17 @2) + (1:33 @3) + (38 @4) + (3:11 @5) 2.39 km (3:52 / km)
ahr:123 max:153

...and back home. Even windier now but luckily some of it was in the back.

Walk 2:00:00 [1]

Symbolic numbers for all the walking at Jukola.

Note

Jukola start before midnight and then running through the night.
I placed my chair in front of the big screen and stayed there most of the race except for a few short breaks for food. I may have dozed off a few times but in principle I stayed awake all night.

Walk 2:00:00 [1]

Impossible to log all the walking and standing around during the event on Saturday so this is just a symbolic number. The first 20 minutes was with a backpack on my way to the club tent.
I had had some doubts whether it was smart of me or not to do this trip but the knee held up fine so I didn´t have to worry.
7 AM

Note

After the usual ferry breakfast we arrived in Turkku/Åbo on time and then had a three hour bus ride to Hollola. We suspect the bus drivers didn´t really know where to go since we ended up in an industrial park (where we think they then parked the buses) and had to call for assistance.

After arrival I first located the UNO tent but since noone was there I then went straight to the Tuna club "tent". Since I was the first one to arrive the tent still wasn´t there. Helped some Finnish ladies on the neighbouring spot to pitch their tent instead and then just relaxed until our ladies teams arrived and a while later Uffe with the tent. Helped Uffe with the tent together with Lars A who had arrived at the same time as the ladies. The weather was very hot and sunny in the afternoon and the dust from 20.000 people moving around was particularly noticeable.

The Venla relay started eventually and it turned out to be an exciting competition. Stora Tuna was within "striking distance" the whole time and when Tove had an outstanding race the victory became clear quite early on the last leg. Spent most of the time watching the race in my chair in the scorching sun in front of one of the big screens.

Went back to the UNO tent after the womens´ relay and met some of the runners and later the rest before their team meeting in the arena. Apparently the lineups to get first food tickets and then food were horrendous so my tactical move to get food while the 4th leg runners in the Venla relay were out battling for places turned into a double victory (for Tuna and for myself).

Passed the Linne tent several times so I met Jeff, Judy, Sam, Ross and Sofie + Cristina on more than one occasion. Didn´t find any of the other US runners except for one or two that I didn´t recognize from a distance.
